CocoRosie haven’t unleashed a record since 2015’s "Heartache City". They kept somewhat busy collaborating with ANOHNI on thee 2017 project entitled “Smoke ‘Em Out.” There was also an appearance on Chance The Rapper’s album "The Big Day".
But after teasing with their most recent single “Lamb And The Wolf” back in August, it all culminated in their latest super-far-out number, “Smash My Head.” It has multiple emotional layers. It has a pinch of 90s alternative. A dash of 2000s indie rock dance flavor and 1980s industrial-opera-goth pop taste.
Thee accompanying video is directed by artist Bianca Casady. Its a moody theatrical mindbending grotesque affair. Costume bounded video with quite a beautiful eyesore. CocoRosie is gearing up to bestow upon us their new LP entitled, "Put The Shine On" due out Mach of 2020.
CocoRosie spilled some 411 in a press release:
"For us, our song “Smash My Head” is a running-on-fire cry from the teenage heart, an inner scream we never dared to let out. The song climaxes in an exaltation, an expression of ecstatic death. It journeys from a hard-knock desert childhood scene to a transcendent cosmic passing to another realm."
