In today's Queen of music news:
"Rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson has announced her retirement from performing after over six decades of touring.
"This retirement is based solely on health and safety," reads a statement on the singer's Facebook page. "It has been a wild ride. Thank you all for all the years of continued fandom and support. This is not the end, just the beginning of a new chapter. Join us as we congratulate the Queen of Rockabilly on over six decades of rip roaring live performances, priceless stories and countless shimmies."
The post also notes that Jackson will not be making previously scheduled appearances at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend or the Nashville Boogie Vintage Weekender this spring.
Jackson, 81, is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has been touring since she was 16 years old.
