New Zealand twosome Broods unleashed a stellarly funky pop single from their upcoming record, "Don’t Feed The Pop Monster." Thee brilliantly upbeat mesmerizing tune is entitled “Hospitalized”. The dazzling synth-pop number leaves the speakerphones drenched with both fire and ice. Broods’ is schooling all the pop boys and girls in the yard with this yummy ditty.
“Hospitalized” has a theme revolved around longing for a break from all the noise. Something all creatives and artists need from time to time to recharge and put things back into perspective. Physical pain is both a distraction and blessed bliss from constant emotional hurt. Lead singer Georgia Josiena Nott sings the frantic momentum building pop gem in a tongue-twister chorus. “Cause I feel like I’m broken but I never got a reason.."
Songstress Nott shared some deets about the inspiration for the tune in a press release. “We were all talking about who had broken a bone, and I was saying how I’d never broken anything but kind of wanted to, just to see how it feels. That turned into this idea of wanting to get hurt so you can have something to blame your self-pity on. Like, ‘I’m sad—but I’ve got a reason, I promise!’”.
Broods’ new record "Don’t Feed The Pop Monster" is due out on February 1st via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. Dig out Broods far-out groovy tune “Hospitalized” right below!
