What's better than a Cher and Abba mashup? That's right can't think of anything lambchops? That's cause there isn't! The wait is finally over. Music pioneer legend and all-around national treasure Cher has certainly been a busy bee as of late churning out the freshest honey from the depths of her honeycomb brain. While promoting her latest film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, it reminded us that it had also been a minute since we have heard new musique from the trendsetter singer.
Well, a stellar tracklist of her upcoming ABBA covers album will be unleashed next month! Thee official first single that just dropped is the timeless track "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)". The 1979 ABBA classic has been sampled in 2005 by the queen of pop Madonna with her uncomparable twist on thee single "Hung Up."
Cher put her special signature rock inspired spin on Gimme. She spilled to the media that the album was already finished, telling host Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today Show, "After I did 'Fernando,' I thought it would really be fun to do an album of ABBA songs, so I did! It's not what you think of when you think of ABBA, 'cause I did it in a different way."
