"Today, the landmark MTV series aired a special episode, “TRL: Party with Cardi,” hosted by Sway Calloway and co-hosted by Bardi’s sister, Hennessy Carolina.
The expectant mother showed off her pregnant glow throughout the show, which included surprise cameos, fan questions, and some quote-worthy moments from the “Bodak Yellow” chart-topper. At one point, she said Invasion of Privacy taught her an important lesson. “I can really do it all,” she said. “I’m the most hard working bitch I ever met.”
During the fan Q&A, Cardi opened up about certain subjects but remained tight-lipped about meeting JAY-Z and Beyoncé. “I don’t wanna have a Tiffany Haddish moment,” she said with a chuckle. “When I meet artists, I like to say I met them and it was nice.” As far as a collaboration, Cardi said she was hopeful. “Maybe one day,” she said. “Who knows?”
Pregnancy also came up during the hour-long celebration. Cardi B said she was grateful for the love, but wished she could have kept this moment to herself. “It feels good, a little bit overwhelming,” she said. “I kind of wanted it more to myself but it was kind of hard to hide it. I’m just excited…It’s a different chapter in my life.”
Cardi B was also excited to share the stage with her sister on this momentous occasion. “Isn’t it funny that I’m hosting ‘TRL’ with my sister and it’s Sibling Day?” she said in a behind-the-scenes clip. “That’s poppin’. That’s Jesus.”
DJ Khaled and J Balvin both sent video messages to Cardi. The latter also celebrated “I Like It,” their collaboration with Bad Bunny. Later, ThesePinkLips designer Iris Bonner presented Bardi with a painting, while Charlamagne Tha God rolled in with a cake. “All these trap artists that I’ve met that are taking over the Latin market, they are so humble and they’re thanking me,” she said. “No, I’m thanking you!”
The show also included a top 10 countdown. Instead of music videos, “TRL” counted down some of Cardi B’s most iconic moments. Offset’s proposal, Grammy nominations, and the “SNL” pregnancy reveal were among the highlights.
After the countdown, which ended with Cardi B’s gold-certified debut album, the Bronx bombshell closed the show with a special message to fans. “Thank you for always supporting me,” she said. “I might say some crazy things. Sometimes I’m a little crazy but y’all still love me.”
Cardi B is coming off a huge weekend. On Friday, she released her debut album Invasion of Privacy. On Saturday, she confirmed her pregnancy during a show-stopping performance on “Saturday Night Live.” Last night, she made history as “The Tonight Show’s” first-ever co-host with Jimmy Fallon." - Rap-up.com
