Seems like Vogue fashion magazine is tiring of the hapless celebrities on the cover of their must see September issue because the cover was leaked by one if its advertisers and its unexpectedly graced by fashions original cover models... actual models! Fashionista.com has the story below.
We've learned from an anonymous source that the cover is indeed a pull out and features Arizona Muse, Edie Campbell, Imaan Hammam, Fei Fei Sun, Vanessa Axente and Andreea Diaconu in addition to the main cover image featuring Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss.
Generally speaking, for the September issues, American fashion magazines all make a big play to feature the world's most famous celebrities who, in turn, will help each brand to sell the most copies. The most anticipated of them all, of course, is Vogue, which normally tends to score someone pretty major — and this year is no exception. But somewhat surprisingly, the just-revealed cover stars are not your run-of-the-mill celebrities. They're models!
In another social media-themed cover (you may recall the #WorldsMostTalkedAboutCoulple hashtag on the Kimye issue), Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss are touted as "The Instagirls," alluding to their millions of followers on the platform. Delevingne is also the cover girl for Vogue UK's September issue, making this quite a coup for the "It" Brit.
This isn't the first time Vogue has put three models on a September cover: Exactly ten years ago, Daria Werbowy, Natalia Vodianova and Gisele Bündchen were featured on the September 2004 issue, which included a fold-out that featured even more of our favorite models, like Gemma Ward and Karen Elson. Here's hoping that this issue has the same. (Also of note: Last week Vogue published a piece online about model Instagram #TBTs including Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Emily DiDonato, Lindsay Ellingson, Doutzen Kroes, Kendall Jenner, Georgia May Jagger, Andreea Diaconu, Kelley Mittendorf and Constance Jablonski. Is this a clue to who could be on the cover pull out?)
Thanks to Instagram, we have a preview of the issue, which should be hitting newsstands any day now. Warning: The video (below) is set to Avicii's "Levels," so press play at your own risk. - Via fashionista.com
