Fashionista.com takes a look at the always fun and festive windows displays at the famous New York department stores that make New York shopping always a special outing.
Saks Fifth Avenue
Theme: Snowflake Spectacular, a light show projected onto the side of the building starring Yetis, who take center stage in this year’s windows.
Each one features a scene from the Yeti’s life, “from his humble beginnings as an unappreciated snowmaker in Siberia to his starring role as a true snowflake artist in New York.” The snowflakes were designed by Marian Bantjes.
Bergdorf Goodman
Theme: Bergdorf Goodman’s David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation, reimagined different holidays throughout the year for “Holidays on Ice.” Arbor Day, Fourth of July, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and April Fool’s are turned into snowy scenes (April Fool’s is particularly witty!). And it wouldn’t be Bergdorf’s without high fashion: Thom Browne, Alexander McQueen and Giambattista Valli are just a few of the designers featured this year.
