Looks like ALber Elbaz is hitting the cosmetics counter as he will be unleashing a line with French luxury cosmetics house, Lancome!
he beloved Lanvin designer will produce a limited edition collection that is set to hit shelves June 15, according to WWD. The line is purely a collab between Lancôme and the Elbaz–Lanvin isn’t involved.
There are no details about the collection yet, just a gushy statement from Lancôme and a very adorable (and tres French) teaser video. “Alber Elbaz is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most influential fashion designers. But beyond that, he is also the most talented,” Youcef Nabi, the president of Lancôme International, told WWD. “His sense of luxury, his vision of femininity and that hint of audacity resonate perfectly with the new values of the Maison Lancôme. We are extremely proud and happy that, with us, he is set to channel his universe in the world of makeup for the very first time.”
We like this trend of designers launching one-off collections with iconic cosmetics companies. Karl Lagerfeld’s recent collab with Shiseido (complete with cartoon muse) was so well done and embodied Lagerfeld’s point of view perfectly. We have no doubt Lancôme will do the same for Albaz and that the collection will be a hit.
