Over the last week Lady Gaga has been getting some negative attention but not in the way most would think as now it is due to her rapid weight gain while taking a break from touring. Cant a girl get fat? Fashionista.com has the details on what she did to punk the bullies.
In light of her recent, well-documented weight-gain controversy (can we just pause a moment to acknowledge the absurdity of that phrase?), Lady Gaga did what any respectable lady would do: She fought back with fashion.
In Paris on Saturday to promote her new fragrance, Gaga greeted the paps wearing a two-dimensional-looking Commes des Garcons dress-on-a-dress concoction from Rei Kawakubo’s fall collection for the line. It’s basically the high fashion equivalent of one of those exaggerated, oversized tees with a bikini body printed on top. Brilliant.
MTV Style pointed out that on the very same day (and possibly while wearing said CDG coat!), Gaga tweeted this not-so-cryptic message to her Monsters:
“And thank to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you.”
To which we’d like to say, no–thank you, Lady Gaga–we’ll definitely be keeping this tactic in mind for the hours following our Thanksgiving dinner.
