Fashion writer Dhani Mau via Fashionista tells us the story of how Louboutin's were made for killin' and not walking...
"We hear shoes described as “weapons” all the time, but rarely do we hear about people actually using them as such. Now, thanks to an understandably pissed off bar manager from San Francisco, we know that heels–Louboutins, specifically–can cause real damage.
Grub Street SF reports (via Gawker) that the following hilarious, but also potentially serious, altercation took place outside of a SanFran bar: First a woman, standing with a man, bent down to switch out her Louboutins for flip flops to walk home. Another man walking by accidentally knocked over one of her Louboutins. Then, the man the girl was with punched that man in the face, at which point the bar manager, Matt Meidinger, said,
Whoa! Take it easy! Kicking a shoe doesn’t equal a punch in the face, Louboutins or not!
Then, as Meidinger tells it:
The woman ran up and said, “Yes, it does!” and came down on top of my head with her heels. Blood immediately started pouring down the left side of my face so I pulled out my phone and called the police. At that point another of her guys (she was with two men, both early 30′s between 6’2″ and 6’5″, 230-260lbs) ran over and told me to get off the phone. I said no and started to back away. He then punched me, grabbed my phone from me and threw it across the street.
After the incident, Meidinger says he spent the night in the emergency room and the force of the Louboutin had “cracked [his] skull.” Unfortunately, the attacker got away, so Meidinger posted her photo on Facebook and Twitter and is offering a $500 reward for her name. Sounds like she deserves some sort of retribution and maybe shouldn’t be allowed to wear Louboutins anymore.
We’re not sure which style of Lououtin the perp used, but based on the victim’s plain description, we’re assuming they weren’t even the fetish ones, some of which look more like weapons than footwear. Which raises the question: What does this mean for Louboutin? Could they end up involved in another courtroom battle? Will ladies have to start applying for licenses that prove their sanity to wear them? Watch this space."
