Hugh Dancy Is Scrumptious Looking On The Cover Of Manhattan Magazine
Hugh Dancy looks scrumdelicious as the latest cover boy of Manhattan magazine’s April issue.
How it all started when Dancy, then 13 (the eldest of three whose father, Jonathan, is a moral philosopher, and mother, Sarah, works in academic publishing), found himself enrolled in the straight-laced Winchester College boarding school. Classic youthful rebellion was promptly curbed with a creative solution when school administrators ordered Dancy to help out with the theater... “It was half time management, half punishment. I had no plans to act at all; it didn’t cross my mind. I don’t believe that the auspicious decision was based on any great character insight, rather, there was always something to be done at the theater, and MY energies needed an outlet.
On his role as Dr. Mortimer Granville in Hysteria... “I knew the basic premise of the movie but I didn’t realize how prevalent [the diagnosis] was or how completely blind the Victorian medical world was to what they were so obviously doing.”
On what he does during his free time... “I really don’t socialize at all, so on the rare occasion I do see people, I find myself dragging everyone in. Next thing you know you’re a 20-person bar crawl and a complete disaster!”
