Miu Miu shot an explosively eerie Valentine's Day short film brought to us by our favorite fashion writers over at fashionista.com...
"What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day then with a screening of a truly awesome and creepy new Miu Miu short film? Last night the Italian label threw a party at a private loft space in SoHo to celebrate the debut of The Woman Dress, starring Italian actress Maya Sansa and directed by Giada Colagrande. The film is the third installment in Miu Miu’s “Women’s Tales Saga,” a film series that explores “the feminine love affair with Miu Miu” (you can watch the first and second films in the series here and here–they’re great).
The love affair with Miu Miu in The Woman Dress is certainly a morbid one–Miu Miu clad models essentially make a dress out of a woman. Just watch…you’ll see. Another important component to these films: Each one reveals a new Miu Miu sunglasses range. In The Woman Dress, we’re introduced to the bug-eyed Miu Miu Cultes. They’re handmade pentagonal-shaped frames with brushed gold finish and will set you back a cool $390 (you can preorder them now on miumiu.com).
As for the party, well Miu Miu puts on a glamorous affair. Prada strutter Willem Dafoe, Marina Abramovic, campaign girl Mia Wasikowska, Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Step Up!), Leighton Meester and Joe Jonas were all there. So were Au Revoir Simone, who provided the soundtrack to the film, as well as Holy Ghost who played the DJ set. The best part about the party, besides the people watching and delicious passed hors d’oeuvres (best shrimp cup ever), was the fact that everyone–no matter their star wattage–had to get to the party in the same tiny freight elevator. Fashion democracy!"
