English men all around can let out a sigh of joy now that London is finally dedicating its always innovative and astounding menswear to its very own fashion week. Originally celebrated solely on the very last day of London's fashion week, The British Fashion Council (BFC) sent out a press release over this past weekend announcing that London Collections for Menswear will take place commencing June of 2012(June 1-17 to be exact.)
Now a three day event, the likes of Tom Ford, Christopher Bailey, and Simon Fuller join forces with companies such as MR PORTER, Style.com, GQ, and Topman all of which will comprise of the same committee. Harold Tillman, the Chairman of the BFC had the following to share in a statement release...
“The menswear industry has been growing from strength to strength in past years and this is true testament to this, London Collections: Men will not only be a showcase for brands and designers but will form a cross cultural programme creating a festival for Menswear in what will be a truly exciting year for the UK.”
Did I hear someone say a 'festival of men?'
