What's Grooving With: The Likes Of The Olsens, Andre Leon Talley, Oscar De La Renta, And Karl Lagerfeld!

Andre Leon Talley and Oscar de la Renta Team-Up!
"André Leon Talley adds another notch to his curating belt (he previously curated an exhibit for SCAD) this December for the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute’s newest exhibition, Joaquín Sorolla and the Glory of Spanish Dress, dreamed up by Oscar de la Renta.

The exhibit explores the sartorial history of Spain’s various regions through the work of Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. More than 30 examples of Spanish men’s and women’s clothing and accessories will appear alongside stunning tableaus, ranging from everyday attire to more dramatic formal wear.

The exhibition will include pieces donated by the likes of Daphne Guinness, The Spanish Ministry of Culture, as well as jewelry and clothing from Sr. Sorolla’s own collection, dating as far back as a century ago when he was comissioned by The Hispanic Society of America to paint depictions of rural life in Spain. A brocaded Valencian silk gown, wedding dress, and several embellished matador costumes worn by toreadors of note are a few of the featured pieces.

The exhibit is set to launch December 8th, 2011 and run until March 10, 2012. Catch it at The Queen Sofía Spanish Institute located at 684 Park Avenue in New York City. For more information, go to the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute’s website.

We’ll certainly be making a visit. After all, you can’t go wrong with great art and great fashion." - Fashionista.com

Karl Lagerfeld In Paris!

"Yesterday in Paris, Karl Lagerfeld was on hand with Vanessa Paradis to unveil the holiday windows for chic department store, Printemps. The windows, which WWD calls Chanel-themed, are really Karl-themed.

They feature a dozen miniature Karl puppets frolicking all over Parisian landmarks. We can’t think of anything more festive than that! And speaking of festive, it’s good to be a pal of Karl’s around the holidays. He told WWD, “I prefer to be the Santa Claus than to get the gift. I start to buy Christmas gifts already sometimes in June and July. My big problem is to keep them, not to give them away before.” (We wonder what Blake Lively’s getting from him this year.)

In case you think Karl’s going to take a few weeks off to enjoy the holidays, he’s so not. His next project will be co-hosting duties with Anna Wintour at the Museum of Modern Art’s Film Benefit on November 15, which will honor Pedro Almodovar." - Fashionista.com

The Olsens Cover Vogue Magazine's Best Dressed Issue!

"Surprise! Vogue’s second annual special edition best dressed issue just hit newsstands and in addition to trend reports and a list of new style stars, Vogue has dubbed this year the “Year of the Sister.” The glossy is covered, appropriately, by everyone’s favorite stylish twin moguls Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, neither of whom have ever done a Vogue cover (weird, right?).

Of course, they’re not the only fashionable sisters deserving of attention. Inside, they also feature Dakota and Elle Fanning, Kate and Pippa Middleton, Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon, Bianca and Coco Brandolini, Poppy and Cara Delevigne, Lily and Ruby Alridge, Claire and Virginie Clarins, and Rooney and Kate Mara.
