Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Sigourney Weaver Cover V‘s ‘Age Issue’

V magazine is out with its new “Who Cares About Age?” issue. The newly released cover story features three different covers with icons Jane Fonda (72), Susan Sarandon (64) and Sigourney Weaver(61).

Fonda gets frisky in leopard print, Sarandon looks saucy with larger-than-life hair, and Weaver is playful in a baseball cap.

“If you’re upset with how you look at 25, life’s going to be tough,” Sarandon tells the magazine.

Fonda adds: “‘There’s fabulous things about being older. The older people get, the less scared they are. All the studies show you’re not as anxious.”

And they’re not the only non-20-somethings celebrated in the issue. The “Can’t Stop the Muses” spread features models Ines de la Fressange and Iman, stylist Camilla Nickerson, as well as artists Yoko Ono and Lucian Freud.

Other inspirations include Beyoncé’s 56-year-old mama, Tina Knowles; Gloria Vanderbilt, the 86-year-old socialite who built a design empire in the ’80s, and Eve Fletcher, the 83-year-old amateur surf star.

The women in this issue, who range in age from 31 to 86, each share personal stories about their respective industries, but all agree that the pursuit of youth is overrated.
