Kanye West Thinks Like Kurt Cobain?
Kanye West's upcoming record entitled "Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is quickly approaching its release date but before that happens, Wal-Mart wants no part of any of it. Thanks to Kanye's appearance of an "abstract art nipple". Kanye took to his twitter and said the following.
- Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few…
- Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix! http://twitpic.com/2ykxjk
- In the 70s album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.
- I know that cover just blew yall minds … I wish yall could see how hard I’m smiling right now!!!
- In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!
- I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity.
- So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings.
Gotta love Kanye's usage of himself in the 3rd person, attaching his name to random descriptions of actions. Trying to create our own Kanye-lingo are we Mister West? Kanye is Kanye. Love him or not. He is who he is. I see him for the reasons why he initially became famous (the way we should see all musicians).
A true innovator in hip-hop and pop musique. Kanye came around in the mid 2000s when the industry had a lackluster of original Rap offerings. It was after Kanye declared he was a "College Dropout" with his debut album in 2004, followed by his second album "Late Registration" in 2005, or his third album "Graduation" in 2007. His last record and fourth album "808s & Heartbreak" in 2008 led him to showcase his multiple style of production skils using vocal samples from soul songs or incorporated with his own drums and instruments. Now we see Kanye really extending his production knowhow using an even more broader musical palette now.
Although, lets not forget the whole reason for this lengthy but needed write-up. The album cover! Which is being banned and offered for your viewing pleasure right below!
The video below continues to be one of my favorite Kanye tunes of all-time.
