The Doors: When You're Strange
The Doors are infinitely one of my greatest influences in rock n roll musique history. But the most iconic rock groups from the 1960s whose musique still blares through speaker phones to this day were founded in 1965, hailing from Los Angeles.
The enigmatic and iconic vocalist Jim Morrison, along with Ray Manzarek (keyboards), John Densmore (drums), and Robby Krieger (guitar) performed in such venues as Los Angeles' famed Whisky A Go Go, achieving world domination with "Light My Fire" in 1967. A string of hits followed with the likes of, "Break On Through", "People Are Strange", "Hello, I Love You", and "Spanish Caravan".
In 2010, we featured the first documentary made about The Doors, "When You're Strange" was released. Directed by Tom DiCillo and narrated by Johnny Depp this film is not one to miss kiddas. The synopsis of the film tells The Door's story from 1965 till Jim Morrison's all to sudden death at the age of 27 in 1971 just like his contemporaries back in those days like Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. The documentary covers every corner into the musique, myth, and fashion style, that made The Doors who they are today!
