Fashion Is Not About Looking Back

"Anna Wintour has been called a lot of things during her stint as editor of the infamous Vogue magazine. There has been talk that the Editor character of Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada was actually based on Wintour herself. Love her or hate her, Wintour has an eye for what’s hot and what’s not and when you run the biggest and best known fashion magazine on the planet, maybe there isn’t time to sugar coat things or mince words. There’s a job that needs to be done and despite what some may take as her cold demeanor, we have no doubt that she appreciates hard work and a job well done. In the end, it’s not about whether you like her or hate her it’s about deadlines and getting a magazine to print, not making friends and having everything be sunshine, lollipops and rainbows.

The motive behind film maker R.J Cutler’s new documentary The September Issue: Anna Wintour and the Making of Vogue. For those who don’t know, The September Issue of Vogue is the magazine annual biggest issue with the most articles, the most features and of course, the most ads. According to the press release for the movie the September Issue of the magazine” reaches an estimated thirteen million people and impacts the $300 billion dollar a year fashion industry more than any publication.”
